Dear Rami,
The Voice
is an English language student magazine based at University of
Leuven, Belgium. We are a non-profit organisation run by volunteers,
financed by advertisement and governmental subsidy to the body of student
representation. We print 1500 copies eight times per year that are
circulated for free in and around University of Leuven.
For an article
discussing stereotypes about Muslim women in our coming
issue we would like to use two of your pictures, namely the one of Sohat
and the one of Batool and Imaan. Therefore, I would like to ask your
permission to publish these pictures along with the article.
Our target
group is the international academic community of Leuven - about
3000 foreign students and PhD students, as well as many readers from
Belgium. We see it as our mission to be a forum for the exchange of ideas
in order to promote mutual understanding between cultures and individuals
and to overcome stereotypes. I realized that our objectives are very close
to the one of the AMALID group and I hope you can approve to publish your
pictures in this context.
To get to
know more about us, please have a look at our web site. Although
I have to apologize that it is hopelessly outdated. If you like to know
more about me, you can also take a look at my personal research web site:

If you are
interested I can also send you more information about The Voice.
Best regards
Achim Woyte
lay-out editor

By the way,
the picture of the building and Mosque downtown, and the angle from which
it was taken, made it a piece of Art.
I think, and moderately speaking, that you Guys are giving the true pictures
of Lebanon along with the flagrant contradictions that exist in this country.
You act as the true Ambassadors of Lebanon and not those appointed by
the Government,

Hey man...
your pictures are breath taking, maybe you should send some of
these pictures to CNN and show them the true beauty of Lebanon, and not
the
ugly image of a rag head with an AK and a chicken. You are an asset to
Lebanon!
