Sakhret El-Rawsheh (The Rock of Rawsheh)
|
The famous Rock of Rawsheh (Sakhret El-Rawsheh) as seen from the Bay Rock Cafe, Rawsheh district, Beirut. This rock sits in the middle of the sea and can be passed-through by boat through the sunset-illuminated groove on the right of the photo. The Rock can be climbed from the side photographed (along the slanted rock formation), and every year, diving competitions are sponsored. The height of the Rock is approximately 45 meters, ~ 148 feet, the equivalent of 15 stories. In the distance toward the left is seen the back exit of one of the two "Mghartein" caves that open their mouths from the other end of the rock formation. |
